Two Of The Biggest Gaming Companies Merge Under Clarion Gaming

Two of the biggest gaming companies in the event and publication area, ATE and River City Group will merge and re-brand as Clarion Gaming after they have been bought by Clarion Events. The merger begun in September 10, 2007 and will be complete in early 2008.

In July 2006, ATE, which manages the major London presentations ICE and ICEi, together with The Betting Show and other conference events was joined by sister company, River City Group. The two companies produce the European I-Gaming Congress and Expo (EiG) and BetMarkets. River City Group produces the Global Interactive Gaming Summit and Expo (GIGSE), World Poker Congress, Asian i-Gaming Congress (AiG, formerly PCIG) and I-Gaming InDepth conferences. Also, ATE and River City Group are the companies who produce known trade publications for gaming industry news like the IGaming News, Betting Business, and Casino Review among others.

In a press release Mr. Simon Kimble, Managing Director of Clarion Events in London, UK declared:

“Clarion Events acquired these two companies with a strategic move in mind and that is to get a better support in serving the global gaming industry. We anticipate that the two companies will structure a dynamic foundation letting us to bring together yet more key gaming industry event and publication companies in different regions of the world." We don’t have the intention to change the existing staff and services. Actually these are projected to remain in essence the same and we intend to maintain to provide to our readers, delegates, exhibitors and sponsors the same trusted services.”

The merger of the two biggest gaming companies in the events and publication industry creates a stronger company that will offer to its clients an extended reach for gaming industry news since the lines between terrestrial and online gaming services continue to distort. Clarion Gaming will provide a combined collection of events and yet more ground-breaking digital information services for a better reach of the global gaming industry.
